Visitor Sends Supplies for the Students

Meredith Hasken’s bright smile only hints at the dynamite packed inside this 17-year-old high-school junior from Georgetown, Indiana, USA. In addition to carrying a full course load, preparing for college, and volunteering at church and at a local shelter, she plays on her school’s varsity volleyball team in the winter, and run track in the spring.

Oh, and she chose to spend her Spring break helping to build houses in Guatemala.

It should come as no surprise that, following a safari visit to the school with her dad, Meredith immediately went about gathering supplies for the students at Tloma. When Bob and Winona returned this January, they brought with them a box full of pens, pencils, mechanical pencils, and calculators collected by Meredith. Most of these supplies were given to students who were sponsored for the next four years at secondary school by safari travelers. The rest were shared with primary students at Tloma. Of course, the kids were delighted to receive the supplies and enjoyed the photos Meredith included.
