Meet Beatus Martin. He was selected to be the headmaster of Tloma Primary School in February of 2024.
Mr. Martin has a Bachelor’s degree in education with 11 years teaching experience. Prior to coming to Tloma Primary School, he taught at another school in the Karatu area. He is married and has four children.
Future plans for the school are being developed by Mr. Martin together with the school, committee, the teachers, and the parents, and the community. These plans include: cultivating bananas; capturing and storing rainwater to develop an irrigation system for farming on approximately one a half acres; coffee cultivation for exhibitions for visitors to the school, and eventually packaging and offering the coffee for sale to raise funds for the school; providing a means to sell paintings and other art made by the students; rental of the yard when it has been made ready.
