As of March 17th, all Tanzanian schools have been closed for 30 days after a 46-year-old Tanzanian woman was diagnosed with the virus. The woman developed a fever a short time after having cleared re-entry following a trip to Belgium. A visit to the hospital confirmed she had the virus. The driver who had transported her from the airport subsequently took some travelers to the Karatu area where they visited an orphanage. While no new cases have been reported at this time as a result of those contacts, the government has taken proactive measures to prevent the spread by closing all schools for a month.
