Electricity In! Water Arrived!

The last three months have been like a perpetual Christmas Eve, waiting for Santa!  We expected the power to be connected and the results from the test well to both occur sometime in early October.

Electric line The power poles didn’t arrive until November 6th, but were placed and the wires attached during the following few days.  All that was needed was the meter, which had been ordered and paid for prior to the arrival of the poles.  But …. the meter was on backorder.  It arrived January 6th. The power company then requested some minor rewiring which was promptly ordered, and the school is now finally enjoying electricity!

There are various stages for the drilling of the well. First was the survey to identify the most promising location. Then there was the drilling of a test hole followed by placing a pump on the test hole to determine the water supply available.  The drilling required going 20 meters deeper than originally planned to hit what is hoped to be sufficient moisture.  We are just completing the pumping test stage where different sized pumps are used to see what it takes to bring the water up, and then how much of a water supply there is.  As you can see, we DID get water, just waiting on the final report of how much.
